Thus, there is a clear difference in "the God" and "in nature God", as the Apostle John wanted his readers to recognize. Here is the quote from the article: "Your salvation was bought with the price of the life of a Member of God's immediate family!

Israel Was Meant to Serve as a Model Society. Let us pause to consider for a moment what it was that they were saying. In the 3rd century, Tertullian claimed that God exists as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—the three personae of one and the same substance. [20] To trinitarian Christians God the Father is not at all a separate god from God the Son (of whom Jesus is the incarnation) and the Holy Spirit, the other hypostases (Persons) of the Christian Godhead. [20] According to the Nicene Creed, the Son (Jesus Christ) is "eternally begotten of the Father", indicating that their divine Father-Son relationship is not tied to an event within time or human history.

Therein, in a nutshell, it is revealed that the omnipotent God is not limited by time or space in His existence and operation. We also recognize from Philippians that He was not divested of a single attribute of deity. Otherwise it is hard to explain the appearance in the late eighteenth century in England of a Quaker sect called the Shakers who also declared their faith in a female Messiah who would supersede and complete the redemption through Jesus.

How he comes to this conclusion is beyond me as it assumes some higher standard to evaluate what is While there are certainly some redemptive aspects to this book; overall, O'Collins liberal leanings often undermine much of what he has to say. By 680 this controversy was fairly well played out. This was a result of their conclusion that an intelligent will provides the ultimate explanation of the world, their efforts to understand that will, and their consequent focus on the appropriateness of human moral action.

But let us suppose that the Process thinkers belief in Jesus perfect humanity has some valid basis not apparent from their own defense of it. This became the classical way that the churches understood Jesus, (although Coptic churches of Egypt and Ethiopia preferred the formula of one nature of the divine Word, enfleshed, so were deemed monophysite by their opponents).
