Lesson #1 - Pronouns are fine and dandy, but don't over use them.
Lesson #2 - Use various verbs. Repetition of one is good, if it serves tomake a point. Repetition without a point is not.
Lesson #3 - Start sentences in a variety of ways. Never "He...He...He...He..."
Lesson #4 - Dialogue should sound like real people talk, even if robots are the ones doing the speaking.
Lesson #5 - Describe settings during opening paragraphs to set the mood. Describe characters in passing when possible; paragraphs that do nothing but detail what a character is wearing are rather boring and pointless.
Lesson #6 - Don't spell everything out. Allude to ideas and topics. Foreshadow upcoming events. Never tell the reader everything; no one needs that.
Lesson #7 - Bulky paragraphs are good when the story calls for it. Don't just write long paragraphs or the sake of long paragraphs. Break them up.
Lesson #8 - Use HTML tags where applicable. Not only does it teach you to write code, it also helps webmasters when the go to post issues.
Lesson #9 - Exclamations and interjections need only one exclamation points, just as questions need only one question mark, and commands or regular sentences need only one period. Excessive punctuation does nothing but make the writer seem amateurish, ellipses not withstanding.
Lesson #10 - Spelling counts, so check it.
