Captain America
By Michael Franzoni

What You Should Know: Following questionable actions in Latveria, Captain America was stripped of his title and removed from his post. A succesor was placed into the role, and soon, in battle alongside the Avengers, the new Captain America gave his life. Now, picking up the pieces, Steve Rogers has once again assumed the mantle, and set himself to making himself a representative of his people.

What's Gonna Happen: Captain America continues to track down the mysterious connection between an assassinated senator and a small, war-torn country in Africa. What he finds is a plot that defies everything he's ever considered his government capable of. And with a non-traditional Cap villain waiting in the wings, Cap may find himself shaken to the core.

Down The Road: Well, Cap hits the road. Trying to reconnect himself to the people he's come to champion, Cap decides to set off across the country and rediscover the magic of the American Dream. Meanwhile, one of Cap's friends is heading toward Washington, and he may have some severely bad news about a big evil heading his way...

Uncanny X-Men
By Ryan Krupienski

What You Should Know: Several months after the events of 'Genetic Eclipse', the Legacy Virus was cured, and the X-Men joined back into one team (they originally split over philosophical differences at the beginning of Marvel-X's continuity in January 1999). A mass execution of mutants attempted by the new Friends of Humanity was stopped by the X-Men, and it garnered national attention, and for once mutants are being viewed in a more sympathetic light. Now, the X-Men have restructured their teams and opened the doors of the Xavier Institute to a plethora of new students, including the voluptuous Bootylicious and the shape-changing Proteus. The school and the X-Men's operations are run jointly by Jean Grey and the Beast in Charles Xavier's absence, and they've recently been joined by Xavier's long-lost twin sister Cassandra Nova. Recently returned to the fold is one-time X-Man Jubilee, whose teammates in Generation X are supposedly dead thanks to born-again villain Emma Frost. In addition, Jean Grey has recently joined forces with Senator Robert Kelly to begin working on a new mutant rights campaign, and old nemeses from the past such as Mystique and the Weapon X organization have resurfaced (in the recently concluded X-Men: Generations limited series). On a much more somber note, one of the X-Men has fallen ill; Cecilia Reyes recently learned that she's contracted breast cancer.

What's Gonna Happen: In issues #30, things heat up as Jean prepares for her speech, while Cyclops questions Cassandra's true motives, and Proteus has a bad encounter with mommy dearest. A big revelation regarding the new Weapon X is also in store. Then in #31, a group of X-Men travel to Washington D.C. and Jean gives her speech, while Cecilia receives grave news about her condition and two old foes with ties to the Summers make a grand return. This sets up the storyarc in July entitled 'Into The Light', which will run through Uncanny X-Men #32, X-Men #22, and a special one-shot. The team will be shaken to its core as one of its oldest and most revered members is not going to make it out alive. In August, the fallen X-Man is put to rest, and Cecilia's ultimate fate is revealed. Then in September, two of the X-Men finally tie the knot, and almost immediately after the team suffers a shocking betrayal from within that sets in motion a series of events that will change them forever.

Down The Road: In October, the sh!t hits the fan as the massive 12-part crossover with X-Men begins. The storyline will go to the end of December and run through Uncanny X-Men #37-42 & X-Men #27-32. Revealing much of anything would spoil the surprises in store, but you can be sure that many old faces, friend and foe alike, will be coming back onto the scene, and after all is said and done, the X-Men will be changed forever. I know that phrase is tossed around a lot, but trust me, it truly applies here :)

Warlock and the Infinity Watch
By David Wheatley

What You Should Know: The new Watch has been assembled, as a cosmic foe tortures and genetically alters Kismet to be the engine of the team's destruction as he bids to be the highest power in all reality.

What's Gonna Happen: Kismet returns to Earth and the Watch are forced to take the power of the gems in to their first real test since the return of the Magus.
