Asimismo, se exploran obras inéditas de varios autores de l. a. costa pacífica cuyos relatos y poemas se enraízan en l. a. rica tradición oral que ha sobrevivido en los angeles región desde el establecimiento de las comunidades negras. Otros ensayos tratan temas polémicos dentro de este campo, como es el caso de los angeles representación del personaje negro en l. a. literatura nacional.
