Este libro examina l. a. representación del cuerpo de personajes históricos en Yo el Supremo (1974) de Augusto Roa Bastos, Noticias del Imperio (1987) de Fernando del Paso, y El normal en su laberinto (1989) de Gabriel García Márquez. Se propone que en los tres casos confluyen en el cuerpo una dimensión alegórica y una escritura performativa que llevan a cabo una "escritura otra" de l. a. historia. Así, se analiza cómo en Yo el Supremo y Noticias del Imperio los huecos, las discontinuidades, l. a. heterogeneidad y lo fragmentario son constitutivos del cuerpo nacional, así como en El common en su laberinto lo son los angeles disolución y los angeles pérdida.
